Travelling to the Yorkshire Moors and Coast by Coach

The area is mostly less than an hour from the M1, M62, M18 and A1. The A1 and the A19 run parallel to the western side of the moors, giving access to Thirsk and Northallerton. For Pickering, A64 to Malton, or leave the A1/A19 at Thirsk and take the A170.

The main route to the Yorkshire Coast is the A64 from York and Leeds to Scarborough. Whitby can be reached via Pickering (A170/A169), or via Scarborough/Guisborough (A171).

National Express coaches run from all parts of the country to Darlington, Middlesbrough, Thirsk, Whitby and Scarborough and stops on route at a number of stations including Malton, Pickering and Easingwold.
