Cheaper, Greener and Easier Holidays and Short Breaks

Everyone's searching for cheaper, green and easier holidays and short breaks this year. In the Yorkshire Moors and Coast there's no need to jet off to the "usual" holiday haunts. Far better alternatives can be found in North Yorkshire!  We recently made Victor Meldrew smile in his new series "Best of British Drives" with visits to Scarborough, Dalby Forest and Whitby and he loved it!

National Student Drama Festival

The National Student Drama Festival between 28 March - 3rd April is a week-long celebration of theatre, live performance, discussion and special events. NSDF09 offers you the chance to attend workshops and discussions coveering all aspects of theatre and performance.

Nunnington Hall

After a short winter break, Nunnington Hall opens it doors again to visitors earlier than ever this year with what promises to be one of their most exciting events and exhibition programmes to date.  Rievaulx Terrace & Temples will also be opening earlier and with admission prices at their 2008 rates until the end of March, is a great reason for people to start the season early and enjoy visiting their local National Trust properties.

Whitby Pavilion Complex

Whitby Pavilion Complex, nestling into the West Cliff, has wonderful views over the North Sea. This month it plays hosts to the Eskdale Festival of the Arts on 3 & 4, 8-14, 21 March.  A multi-strand arts festival including poetry, jazz and choral music.

World of James Herriot

Explore the home and surgery of James Herriot in 1950's themed rooms. Experience hands on activities and fun in the visible farm. Try your hand in the TV studios. Investigate the variety of veterinary equipment.
